The Member Development Gateway aims to utilise a range a learning methods to meet the diverse needs of Members. To reflect this we have been working closely with the 'Learning Pool' to make learning materials available at a time that's convenient, and on subjects that are relevant, to Members.
The Learning pool has a new range of programmes called the Modern Councillor which covers topics from Community Leadership to Overview and Scrutiny, delivered in bite-sized chunks of between 15 to 30 minutes' learning. This can be done at home or in the council offices, where ever you have access to a computer.
The added bonus of the Learning Pool is the capability to create new modules. This will enable the authorities and sub regions to create modules that reflect their particular interests.
